Livingston

With a population of approximately 30,000, Livingston affords a comfortable suburban lifestyle with easy access to New York City and other areas of New Jersey. The town is consistently ranked amongst the top school districts in the state. Although not directly on the train line, the township offers jitney service from the Livingston Mall to the South Orange Station (with Midtown Direct service to New York's Penn Station.) Many Livingston commuters take advantage of the bus service to Port Authority, which has many stops throughout the town, as well as the Park-n-Ride located in West Orange at the Codey Arena complex.

Livingston offers a variety of housing options, from multi-million dollar homes in Bel Air and Bel Air Woods, to new construction Townhouses in Livingston Town Center, to single family homes, condos, capes, split levels, colonials and contemporary homes ranging from $400K to $4M. The town’s Senior, Youth and Leisure Services (SYLS) oversee two community pools, tennis courts, basketball courts and playgrounds, youth and adult athletics, and a broad selection of assistance programs and activities for seniors.

Favorite restaurants include Nero’s Grille (make reservations in advance!) as well as Lithos, Sweet Basil for brunch, Eppes Essen Deli and the famous Ritz Diner.
